Floatplane development of the An-2T transport. Aircraft has the same airframe structure and same maximum flight weight 5250kg. Reversible propeller AV-2R used to shorten Landing Roll. Floats (220kg, 6m3 each) are installed on 6 struts strengthened by tension wire. Floats equipped with rudders for taxi and have shallow draft ~60cm.
Floats and reversible propeller may be fitted to any serial An-2 by four men in 20 hours.
An-2V still serves in rural areas of Siberia and Russian North, where lack of equipped airfields is compensated by excess of rivers and lakes suitable for this floatplane.
Firefighter version (An-2LV, Lesnoj Vodnyj, Forest Hydroplane) is equipped with special floats. Special hatch type valves allow to skim 630l of water into each float during taxi, and release it later on the blaze. This variant is in service since 1969.
