BICh-1 'Parabola' by B.I.Cheranovskij

Project 'Parabola' was initiated by B.I.Cheranovskij. The idea of 'inhabited' thick flying wing (all-in-wing) aircraft was meet with certain skepticism by specialists. After series of wind tunnel tests the BICh-1 glider was built. It was a flying wing with straight trailing edge and parabolic leading edge.

Despite handling of the aircraft was quite unusual and complex, 'Parabola' participated in glider contest in 1924 together with more advanced BICh-2 successor.
