Pusher biplane, almost identical to Farman-VII with front elevator (sometimes removed). It was built in series at Dux factory. Russian-built Farman-IX differed from French by pointed fairing covering the crew.
Also was designated as "Farman Voennyj" (Farman Military), "Farman-IX by Dux", "Voenno-Gonochnyj" (Military-Racer).
