Twin-engine
wooden trainer, intended for pilots transition to bomber aircraft and practicing in crew
teamwork. Normal low-wing monoplane with retractable main landing gear with enclosed
cockpits. Fuselage - plywood monocoque.
G-27 was ready in
1929.
Preliminary trials were performed by N.D.Fedoseev. Aircraft demonstrated speed 240km/h with wheels
down (retraction mechanism was not ready in time). High wing load made
G-27 handling very demanding.
After few flights aircraft was preserved (and eventually abandoned), because
V.K.Gribovskij
was assigned to assault gliders construction.
