16k b/w photo of I-224 at "History of aircraft construction in the USSR", Vol.1 p.238

Almost identical to I-222/3A. Differed by improved air-air radiator (for the pressurized cockpit) under the fuselage and special high-altitude propeller with very wide blades.

During factory flight tests (Fall 1944) achieved altitude 14000m, but failed to demonstrate calculated range 1400km.

Predecessor I-222, 3A
Development I-225, 5A
