34k b/w "History of aircraft construction in the USSR", Vol.1 p.538

Farm duster/seeder, with capability to serve as a trainer, mail delivery, ambulance. I.P.Tolstyh (so IT designation) built it under special order at ZOK NII GVF in 1934.

Parasol monoplane of mixed construction. Folding (for storage/transportation) wing carried ailerons, flaps and leading edge slats. Fuselage - steel tubes, tail - metal frame, wing - wooden frame. All covered with fabric. Landing gear with rubber shocks.

Aircraft was flown in November 1934. Performance was very good, but also successful U-2 was already in production. IT-9 remained and experimental 'specimen' with mechanized wing.
