Light armored ground attack aircraft (so LBSh, Legkij Bronirivannij Shturmovik), development of the R-9 reconnaissater. Had different engine and armored pilots seat. Flight characteristics were quite good, despite fixed landing gear.
Was tried with M-85 and M-86 engines, second prototype Sh-2 and M-81 powered MMSh-M-81 were also built.
Did not enter the mass production, because Neman's R-10 was preferred.
