Aircraft of the R-5 line, designed within armored ground attacker program. Armor shell was wielded into single piece. It was designated 'light' because the engine was not armored from above, unlike in the following TSh-1 and TSh-2.
Four machineguns, installed under the gunner's cockpit floor, could be moved vertically in range 30-60° to the horizon.
