Aircraft is in series production at MAPO. Production is also planned at the Kutaisi aircraft works in cooperation with the Russian works "Aviaton". Oleg Volk, one of the founders of the 'Aviaton', has negotiated the issue with Eduard Shevardnadze. The new aircraft may be reportedly employed by the Georgian border guards, as well as exported to Far East and southern regions of the CIS (and across the border).
There are reports that one 'Mercury' was purchased at Kutaisi by USA Custom Service and... presented to Georgian Borderguards!
Estimated cost of the fully-loaded four-seat "Mercury" is $360,000.
