Twin-hulled flying boat. The design was aimed on aircraft capable to carry 7...8tons of bomb/torpedo load at speed 220...230km/h and have range 2500...3000km. MK-1 had to takeoff and land on waves up to 1.5m, be able to drift at open sea for a long time and be tugged by a ship.

Construction started in February (other sources - December 1) 1932. Was ready in August 1934.
