Biplane flying boat, development of the MR-3. Hull was redesigned (new shape, wooden construction). Aircraft was ready in June 30, 1931. Takeoff shortcomings were cured without changes in flight performance.
There was another variant of the hull built for special high speed monoplane design (MR-5, MR-5bis). But more advanced project MBR-2 was on its final stage, and MR-5bis was not finished.
