Small series variant of Pe-2, employing powerful direct fuel injection M-82 engines. Aircraft emerged as a result of designer's efforts to improve flight performance of the aircraft. Indeed, certain advantages were gained (see table) and limited production followed - but production of standard VK-105PF-equipped Pe-2 was not interrupted.
One of Pe-2-M-82 had improved airfoil, allowing to decrease landing speed from 240km/h to 200km/h. This modification was not introduced in mass production at all...
