44k b/w as seen at "History of aircraft construction in the USSR", Vol.1 p.70

The first one in series of "S" aircraft, actually just a strengthened BIS-2.

Biplane with single tractor propeller, first flown in November 1910. Thirteen successful flights were performed, lasting up to 1.5min. Ceiling was increased to 30m against 10m for predecessor, but engine power was still insufficient to perform a turn.

On December 13, 1910 I.I.Sikorsky tried to land to frozen surface of a reservoir. Landing was unsuccessful, ice was broken. Engine sunk, aircraft was badly damaged and was not restored.
