S-8 'Maljutka' (The Little One), I.I.Sikorsky

S-8 was a biplane trainer. Controls could be moved between trainee and instructor, seating side-by-side in wide cockpit. 0.5m wide opening between the lower wings and fuselage provided better sight for a crew. Wings and landing gear were similar to those of S-6A.

On this aircraft I.Sikorsky performed night flight (1.5 hours at 1500m), landing on airstrip illuminated by fires (Sept.17, 1912).
