High speed dive bomber (so designation SPB) version of the I-16 Type 5 with imported 1*710hp Wright-Cyclone F-3 engine. Differed in having pneumatic landing gear and retractable flaps, separated from the ailerons.

200kg bombs on hardpoints under the fuselage.

One built No series production.
