All-metal development of the TsKB-26. It was armed three-seat aircraft. Its construction was an extreme development of wielded tube frames. Wielding quality was monitored by X-Ray facilities, had very high quality - but required a lot of 'hand crafting'.
Became an origin of the DB-3 series.
The prototype (after all tests were completed and series production started) was designated 'Moscow'. Following non-stop flight records were set with this aircraft:
