Yak-18PS by A.S.Yakovlev ('Max')

34k b/w Yak-18PS at 6th World Aerobatic Championship, Hullavington 1970. Photo by J.M.G.Gradidge from "Russian aircraft since 1940", p.453

Variant of Yak-18PM, 'step back' to the taildragger scheme of the original Yak-18. Main wheel semi-retract backwards, same way as on the Yak-18

Probable aim - to save weight on the undercarriage. First appeared at the 6th World Aerobatic Championship, Hullavington.
